Thru Dec. 17/CAMDENTON – Fri. – Sun. at Old Kinderhook. Kick off the holidays on The Ice with Christmas music and family-friendly events. Hayrides available 5-9 p.m. Fri. & Sat. Activities available at the Creek View Conference Center include gingerbread house decorating for kids, DIY ornaments, Winter Bingo, Santa and his workshop, performances on the ice, and elf storytelling. Plan breakfast with Santa, participate in games, watch movies and write your letter to Santa. Ice Skating available. For all non-hotel guests, it is $5 per child to participate in the Christmas Village activities. St. Patrick’s Festival of Lights

Through Jan. 7/LAURIE – One of the longest running Christmas light displays at the Lake of the Ozarks is free and open to the public nightly, 5-10 pm, There’s hot cocoa and candy canes for all on Fridays, 6-8 pm, On Dec. 10, 4-8 pm, “O Holy Night,” a live nativity will be on display, along with refreshments, carolers, St. Nicholas and a bonfire. The live nativity includes a special appearance of Noah the camel, thanks to Sunrise Safari. The Festival of Lights will be on the grounds of The National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church and St. Patrick Catholic Church, For more information, visit mothersshrine.com.

 

Old_Fashioned Redneck Christmas

Dec. 7-10/VERSAILLES –  7 p.m. at the Royal Theatre (2 p.m. Sunday) What if the three wise men were just three ordinary guys, avoiding conflicts at home, who happened upon the greatest story ever told? Bill, Dave, and Jimmy decide to high-tail it into the mountains on Christmas Eve for a little hunting and a lot of beer. Holiday With Horses

Dec. 16/LINN CREEK – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue and Sanctuary. See Santa and his horse, make lots of memories and items to take home that capture this special time of the year! Pony rides, cookie decorating, photos with Santa, Home Depot kids workshop, and sleigh wagon rides.  Food will be available for purchase. Entry is $10, ages 3 and under are free.
