Viking Experience Festival

March 22-23, 29-30/OCFORD – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on 15 acres of partly wooded land at 1045 Walnut Grove Rd. A celebration of Viking culture and fun, featuring over 30 talented cast members in full character. Activities include  interactive characters, reenactors, music, fairy glen, dancing, games, vendors, food, classes, axe throwing, mead tasting, fight pits, skits in the Village Drekhiem, and the After Hours Show.

Highlights include the “Adventure Quest”, where you follow clues and interact with the cast to solve mysteries. You can go “Dragon Hunting” or protect the dragon and its territory. The Fight Pit (Ages 7+) and the Adult “Shield Wall Class” provide Viking Training based in fairness and safety, while the Mead Experience provides an introduction to the beverage of choice for many a Viking. Or step away from the Vikings and take in the Mermaid Experience where you can have a meet, greet and photo ops with mermaids. Feast Wilmington

March 29-30/WILMINGTON – Riverfront Park. One weekend with three unique food and beverage events. Showcasing and celebrating Wilmington’s emergence as a top culinary destination.  Featurinig chefs from some of the area’s most renowned restaurants. Kick off the festival fun Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. with Craft + Cuisine, which will pair 20 local breweries with 20 local chefs to create unique brew and bites tastings. Piratefest

April 5/GREENVILLE – 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. downtown. Swashbucklers of all ages converge on the banks of the Tar River, a pirate’s paradise for a full day of piratical tomfoolery at the Greenville Town Common! Attendees will see tons of costumed pirates, street food vendors, fine arts and crafts for sale, sword fights and multiple live music performances.
