Tulip Time
April 10-26/TOPEKA – Locations city-wide fill up with hundreds of thousands of tulips. From cheerful yellow, to passionate red and pure pink, as well as wild two-toned beauties, the Capital City’s parks and gardens are all aglow in April. Grab your camera and head to Gage Park, Ted Ensley Gardens at Lake Shawnee and Ward-Meade Park’s Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens at Ward-Meade Park hosts an annual Tulips at Twilight nighttime event at old Prairie Town Thurs. – Sun. from 7-10 p.m. More than 40,000 multi-colored tulips are illuminated by more than 90 lit displays. The Tulip Festival proceeds on April 13 at Ted Ensley Gardens at Lake Shownee.
