The first and main event is the Polar Fest Plunge into the Little Detroit Lake. other activities ranging from golfing on the lake to presentations by polar explorers to dances in the sand. In 2008, fireworks on the last Saturday evening were added and that has become one of the highlights of the two-week-long winter celebration.

Highlights this year include a Polar-ific Spaghetti Dinner 4:30-7 p.m. Feb. 7, a fishing derby Feb. 11, Kitefest, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., games, live entertainment, competitions, delicious food tastings and the 27^th annual plunge at 1 p.m. Sat., Feb. 25
