Extended Weekend Getaways Winter Wanderland Continues in Downtown Indy
While the winter weather continues, now is the perfect time to go ice skating with friends at Bicentennial Unity Plaza through Jan. 26 and experience the magic of Jingle Rails at the Eiteljorg Museum through Jan. 20. From traditional favorites to new seasonal surprises, there’s plenty to celebrate in the heart of Indianapolis. Jingle Rails presents a model train display featuring nine C-scale trains traveling through the landscapes and past famous landmarks of Indianapolis and the American West. At the ice skating rink, Ice Bocce is also available. Ice bocce is a winter game where teams compete to slide their disks closest to a target ball, called the jack, on a sheet of ice. If you’re looking for a fun and free activity in the snow, come out to Curling on the Canal every Sunday to showcase your team’s talent on the rink!
Curling is a popular winter team sport, played on ice, where two teams take turns to slide stones towards a target, called a ‘home.’ Learn more about the sport of curling, including rules, strategy, and opportunities to try it on ice, from our partners at the Circle City Curling Club! Rink is available on a first come, first served basis during open curl hours. Do not walk on the surface of the rink. Rink is CLOSED when stones are not out.
