5 Things to do in Vegas That Doesn’t Involve Cards

Here on The Weekender Extended, we’ve covered Las Vegas events before. And the fashion show we covered is a prime example that there’s much more to this town than playing tabletop card games. So with that in mind, let's talk about some of the other Sin City attractions designed to give you a different kind of thrill.

The Adventuredome Theme Park is located at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, and the entire complex is built within a gigantic dome tinted with pink glass. Visitors can choose from a wide variety of thrilling rides and theme park attractions including a virtual reality zone, two roller coasters, six spinning rides, and a carousel. In the middle of the dome, there’s a carnival with a mini-golf course, bowling alley, and video arcade.

Do some shark-watching

Shark Reef Aquarium is home to 15 types of sharks and more than 2,000 marine creatures from 100 different species. You’ll truly feel like you’re in a different world at the bottom of the sea. The aquarium features an ancient underwater temple and an exhibit that contains a sunken ship. It’s an aquatic experience you’ll never forget.

Go to the circus

What trip to Vegas would be complete without attending at least one Cirque du Soleil show? The brand has expanded since they set up shop in 1984. But a great starting point is with Cirque du Soleil Kooza. Time Magazine lauds the show by stating, “Kooza can be recommended without reservation, even to those who can’t stand clowns.” The show has all the standard elements you’d expect from a traveling circus – clowns, contortionists, and acrobats doing death-defying acts. It’s this trademark acclaim that has made Cirque du Soleil a global brand and has enabled it to cross over into different industries. FoxyCasino have many games that honor the Entertainment Capital of the World, with Cirque Du Soleil Kooza demonstrating how the show’s unique style translates to digital platforms. The game captures the suspense and excitement of the show with appearances from many of the bizarro cast. In addition to that, the latest Cirque du Soleil movie, Volta, was released this year. The show has even created television productions in the past such as the super popular The Wiz Live back in 2015. There’s really no other experience like watching this esteemed production.

Get romantic

Instead of going all the way to Italy, why not try a romantic gondola ride around the Venetian? You can curl up close together while a baritone singer belts out love songs in Italian as you cruise through the waterway. Visitors have two choices in terms of the route – an outdoor canal that goes the length of the Las Vegas Boulevard or the Grand Canal that will take you near piazza cafes.

Watch amazing waterworks

Ever since they were built in 1998, the Fountains of the Bellagio Hotel have become an important landmark in the city. Comprised of over 1,000 fountains that shoot water in the air that is synced with a music and light show, it’s a truly an impressive spectacle. The fountain shows are on weekdays between 3 pm and 8 pm and every 15 minutes from 8 pm to 12 am. Best of all, they’re free.
