Description
OUR TOP EVENT OF THE WEEK!
Featuring the John Deer Tractors, this year’s show invites guests of all ages to experience America’s agricultural heritage as a living, working celebration of the past. Held at the Platte County Fairgrounds, this annual gathering offers the opportunity to see, hear, smell, and experience history in motion. The sights and sounds of antique tractors, steam engines, and historic farm equipment create an atmosphere that immediately transports visitors to an era when agriculture was powered by ingenuity, hard work, and mechanical innovation.
One of the show’s most fascinating attractions is the sawmills powered by a steam engine and tractors. Watching century-old machinery still perform the task it was designed for more than 100 years ago offers a remarkable glimpse into the daily realities of early American farming. Throughout the weekend, visitors can also watch corn shelling and wheat threshing demonstrations.
Antique tractor enthusiasts will find plenty to admire, with beautifully restored machines representing generations of farming history. Steam engines, hit-and-miss engines, and scale-model steam engines powering a full-scale sawmill showcase the mechanical creativity that shaped rural America. Kids can climb aboard during the popular “Touch a Tractor” activities, enjoy train and barrel rides, participate in heirloom games, and experience the excitement of the children’s tractor drive and pedal pull competitions. There is a daily parade.
The swap meet offers opportunities to browse collectibles, parts, tools, and treasures, while food vendors provide classic fair favorites and hearty meals throughout the weekend.
