Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival

April 12-14/WOODLANDS – Shop for fine art and enjoy live music, local food, beer and wine, and children’s art activities for a fun family experience. Along with nearly 200 top-ranking artists from around the country, the festival features a special section for up-and-coming authors and a local community art project. Set in Town Green Park and along the scenic banks of The Woodlands Waterway, it continues to be one of the premier and most highly anticipated events of its kind in the area. Kiss Me I’m Irish

March 15/ GRAPEVINE – A St. Patrick’s Day-themed train ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad starting at 7:25 p.m. Celebrate the luck of the Irish. Your purchase includes individually portioned Irish-style food items, two complimentary glasses of Texas craft brew served in a souvenir mug and Irish music during the two-hour experience. Additional brew will be available for purchase. Ages 21+ only. Your reserved ticket time is the train “departure” time. Please check in at least 30 minutes prior to departure. The train returns approximately two hours after departure. Seats will be assigned upon check-in. Lone Star Gun Show

March 16-17/FT. WORTH – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat. and  10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun. at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. With more than 1200 tables displayed, this is known as one of the biggest gun shows around. The public is invited to come and buy, sell or trade. General admission is $10 at the gate, $15 for a weekend pass and children ages 11 and under are admitted free. Pinball Festival

A pinball machine surrounded by stars.March 15-17/FRISCO – 4 p.m. – 1 a.m. Fri., 9-11:30 a.m. Sat. and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sun. at Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center.  Featuring more than 400 vintage and new pinball machines, as well as classic arcade games set to free play. Attendees can play the latest game releases, including Stern Pinball’s Jaws, Spooky Pinball’s Loony Tunes, and a new Texas manufacturer, Barrels of Fun, showing off their new Labyrinth machine. Enjoy a variety of adult and child pinball tournaments throughout the weekend to win trophies and prizes. Exhibitor demonstrations, parts, supplies, equipment, and memorabilia will be available, and collectors bring rare and custom games to compete for coveted machine awards. Seminars with pinball designers and artists will take place Friday and Saturday. Quilt Show

March 15-17/DALLAS – 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.  (11-4 Sun.) at the Dallas Market Hall. This year’s theme is “I Love Rock & Roll.”  See displays of Best of Show, viewers’ choice, judge’s choice and more. Winning quilts will be chosen in two divisions, artisan and master, for large pieced, large applique, and two-person quilts. The sponsoring organization, Quilter’s Guild of Dallas, encourages the creative and supportive culture of members who use quilting to express their individual artistic visions. Rodeo Austin

March 8-23/AUSTIN – Travis County Expo Center. Over the years, Rodeo Austin has grown from a show featuring 16 animals into one of Austin’s premier events, featuring Pro rodeo events, daily concerts, livestock show and more. It’s a Texas-sized carnival and fair, shopping, food, and a variety of special attractions.
