Going to Bangkok? Here's What You Need to Know

Bangkok can be confusing, especially if you have never been there before. If you want to make your life a little easier, then here are some of the things you need to know.

Barter

The first thing you need to get good at is bartering. The first rule here is that there is no set price. You are expected to haggle. As a general rule, you should be able to chip up to 10% off the asking price, but it’s also not uncommon to see the asking price drop by 40%, either. If you want to help yourself here, then don’t be afraid to walk away if you feel as though the price is not agreeable. You will probably be called back and offered an even better price, which is great, to say the least.

Book a Nice Hotel

If you want to make the most out of your vacation, then one thing you can do is try and book a nice hotel. You need to make sure that you are not staying somewhere where you don’t fully feel at ease. The main reason for this is that Bangkok is a very busy city, and you need somewhere you can fully relax and unwind, especially after a big day. Ideally, you should try and find a hotel that is connected to a restaurant, or that at least positions you near the good ones. If you can do this, then you will find that it is easier than ever for you to not only have the best time, but also be near to everything you want. You can even find a restaurant that offers rooftop bars. This is a great way for you to take in the stunning skyline, and at the same time, it allows you to get the best result overall.

Drink Water

Another thing you can do is make sure that you drink a lot of water. Packing a supply of water is one of the best things you can do for your overall well-being. A good rule of thumb is to drink a lot more if you happen to be sweating. You are never going to be far away from a drinks vendor here, which is always a good thing. Take a cup with you and make sure that you fill it with you wherever you go. If you can, also take note of how the locals are drinking, as this will again help you to gauge what you need to do in order to stay hydrated.

You might also want to try and take an organized tour. When you do, you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to get the result you need and that you can also really get out there and see the world. Pounding the streets with a guidebook is one of the best things you can do, and it is also a great way for you to take in the sights and the sounds.
