Gen Z and Valentine’s Day – How to Celebrate

Young people today are not dating like they used to in previous generations. A survey found that only 56% of Gen Z adults were involved in a romantic relationship at any point during their teenage years, versus 78% of Baby Boomers and 76% Generation Xers.

With less and less people getting into relationships, how can young adults and teenagers celebrate Valentine’s Day?

“For years, being in a relationship was the norm, especially for people in high school. However, today’s young adults are not getting into romantic relationships, and that’s not a bad thing. Valentine’s Day isn’t just a day for partners or spouses, it can be a time to celebrate self-love and the friendships in our lives,” says Hidden Strength CEO and Founder Linsey Lunny.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be JUST for significant others. It can be a time to celebrate our love for our friends and family.

“We should do more to show our friends and family that we love and appreciate them, and we should do the same for ourselves. Valentine’s Day can be a perfect day to start.”

Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be a day young people dread – we can celebrate it in other ways outside of our romantic partnerships! Here are 4-6 ways anyone can celebrate Valentine’s Day, whether they’re in a romantic relationship or not

  1. Galentine’s or Palentine’s Gathering – Host a fun get-together with friends, whether it’s a cozy movie night, a group dinner, or a game night. Valentine’s Day can be a time to appreciate the important friendships in our lives.Galentines Party Idea
